Bio

Capt Scott Russell serves as an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies (APAS) at Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 250, at Iowa State University. In this role, he is responsible for the recruiting and comprehensive military education of cadets, culminating in their commissioning as officers in the United States Air and Space Force.

Capt Russell graduated from Oregon State University in June 2019 with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, commissioning into the United States Air Force as a Cyberspace Warfare Operations Officer. He then completed several cyber warfare pipelines, culminating in completion of the Air Force Basic Operator Course (AFBOC), becoming certified as an Offensive Cyberspace Operator. In this role he operated a cyber weapon system, providing direct support for operations globally. He then served as the Executive Officer for the 67th Cyberspace Operations Group, providing administrative oversight for over 300 military personnel.
